Biography
Born in 1945 in Northampton, and educated at Northampton Grammar School. From 1967 to 1971 was teaching at a comprehensive school. 1971 Joint Exhibition at The Guildford Gallery 1972 - 1976 Assistant Project Director Surrey County Council Experimental Education Centre in interdisciplinary education 1976 - 1985 Private Gallery - Chawton, Hampshire 1982 Ceramic Demonstration for BBC Blue Peter 1985 - 1993 Private Company designing and marketing commercial ceramics 1989 Assisted first firing of Patrick Sargent's wood kiln in Switzerland 1990 Built unique double cross-draft wood kiln and experimented with firings and new ways of working 1993 Sold successful business giving freedom to make expressive work. There followed three years of experiments with kilns, glazes and forms 1998 Elected member of Newlyn Society of Artists (NSA). Later elected onto committee and currently serving as Hon.
